Yes, we are doing something with that big empty space you always see right when you get off of the elevator.
Bolton 510 is undergoing some serious renovations. If all goes according to plan, that vast void will soon be a computer lab/ audio lab/ student lounge super suite.
Here’s a breakdown of everything you’ll find in the new Bolton 510.
Balancing work, school and JAMS open lab hours on a student schedule can be difficult. A dedicated computer lab that’s open all day should make that balancing act a little more manageable.
Of course, the computers will have every Adobe Creative Cloud application you need as well as Soundslides and access to your class folders.
Recording narration tracks in the Johnston audio lab was always tricky. There was that weird unexplainable hum that only seemed to start the second you hit the record button. And then there was the fact that all three audio workstations were in the same room. So simultaneous recording sessions were an absolute no-go.
Lounge chairs, love seats and meeting tables
Sitting on the floor outside of a classroom doesn’t exactly give you the best lumbar support. And it tends to create an awkward obstacle course of legs for anyone trying to walk down the hall.
You’ll find plenty of places to take a load off in the new Bolton 510. We’ve ordered lounge chairs and love seats like the ones in The Union (think of that area right by The Grind.)
Should you need a spot to work on a group project, Bolton 510 will have movable meeting tables and plenty of chairs as well.
